The junior model of the Austin Air Healthmate has a 7.5 lb. 1 inch deep carbon filter, HEPA filter and pre-filter.

Asutin air claims the jr. can handle a 700 sq. ft. room. I believe Austin Air based this on the motor rating of 200 cubic feet per minute ( CFM ).

This rating is without the filters installed.

The jr actually delivers 120 CFM with filters installed.

In my opinion 400 sq. ft. is more realistic.

The Austin Air Healthmate Jr. air purifier is a good general purpose air purifier for home or office. I would like to hear abour your experiance with the Austin Air Healthmate Jr.

The HealthMate is a good general purpose air purifier. Filter configuration includes a pre-filter, 15 lb 1 inch deep carbon filter, and a HEPA filter.

The motor will move 400 cubic feet per minute. This is Free Flow with out the filters. With the filters the Healthmate will deliver 240 cubic feet per minute of clean air.

Austin seems to use the 400 cubic feet per minute (CFM) to calculate the 1,500 square foot capacity. 400 CFM would clean a 1,500 sq ft area with standard ceiling height about twice an hour.

However, it would take an hour at 240 CFM. In my opinion, 900 square feet is more realistic.
